Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) Powder

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), though closely related to Niacin, does have differing effects. Each of them plays an important role in the metabolism of energy in that they may be converted into coenzymes. Taken in amounts of about 100mg or less, both Niacin and Niacinamide ostensibly perform the same actions. When taken at levels greater than 100mg, however, Niacin is able to help the body balance the levels of good and bad cholesterol present in the blood.

Of all of the B vitamins, Niacin is considered to be one of the most stable. It is water soluble and vital in sustaining life. It resists the effects of those elements which may cause erosion such as wind, heat, light, alkali, and acids. One of the most important roles of Niacinamide is in its ability to help clear the body of toxins, due to its high stores in the liver, the detoxification center of the body. It is also necessary in stimulating the adrenal gland at certain points in order to increase hormone production and synthesize certain hormones.*

Vitamin B3 can also speed up general chemical reactions controlled by enzymes at a cellular level. These reactions include processes that strengthen cell integrity and also produce energy for the body to use. Without Niacinamide, the body would weaken and operate much more slowly, unable to build many energy reserves. Through this indirect influence, it helps the production of DNA, the breakdown and metabolizing of fats and the general maturation of each individual cell.

Niacinamide also affects the flexibility and health of the skin and improves the effectiveness of the circulatory system by widening the blood vessels, thereby distributing blood more rapidly to the parts of the body that need it and getting rid of harmful toxins in the blood much more quickly.

Serving Size & Timing
Niacinamide is recommended to be taken at 100mg (about 1/32 tsp) to 500mg (about 3/16 tsp) daily, preferably with a meal (since it increases the production of HCL, which aids digestion further). Niacinamide can be dangerous in larger servings, so it is best to avoid servings larger than a single gram until consultation with a physician is possible.
